Questions & Answers:
Q: I know the Law of Attraction works because of what I’ve already created in my life but I really want to begin using the LOA more constructively to create more positive things. What’s the first thing I should do?
A: This is a great question because the Law of Attraction is always working in our lives. It is one of the most powerful Laws of our Universe. The following is a simplified version of a formula I’ve found my clients work well with.
1) Decide What You Want. Be as descriptive about the details as you can be. Write it out often. Find pictures that support your desire. Send away for brochures or more information, cut things out of magazines. Use the Mirror MantrasTM , Affirmative Art TM statements, post these around your house, office car, in places where they are the first things you see in the morning and the last thing you think about at night.
2) Decide You Deserve It. Define ‘why’ you deserve it. Be very clear about your purpose. The stronger your intention of purpose the more speedily you will attract it. Turn it into a knowing.
3) BELIEVE It Is Coming. Act as if it is already on its way. Step into your desire. Speak about it in the present tense as if it is already here. The more realistic you can make this the more powerfully you will pull it toward you.
4) Show GRATITUDE. Gratitude clears the mind of negativity and excessive clutter. Gratitude strengthens your belief and keeps your mood high and happy. Be grateful for all the good that is in your life now, and you open the way for more to come.
5) Be Open and Allowing. Trust the process and know your good is on its way. Stay joyful and happy; celebrate your life. Take action when ideas present themselves (and they will when you are open) don't delay or procrastinate, act.
Q: I learned about and have been using the law of attratction since I saw the movie the Secret last year but nothing in my life seems to be changing. In fact it seems I have more debt, more stress and my long term relationship just ended. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Does this stuff really work?
A: I always think that when so many aspects of your life are apparently 'falling apart' there is some big work afoot. Hang in there, decide in this moment that you are not doing anything wrong. This stuff does work but it rarely works overnight. It is a process. You saw the movie, it impacted you and you began to use Law of Attraction and changed your thoughts, thoughts that you'd most likely been thinking for years. As your thoughts change you begin to attract in a different reality. Outward change is inevitable and sometimes it is less than comfortable because you are literally ending a long term relationship with your brain cells and brain hormones. It is these that have created a neuro-net of habituated thought patterns, automatic responses and beliefs. (see "What The Bleep Do We Know" on our reading page) Some say that when you commit to thinking in a new way and begin to change that neuro-net, it feels like you're having a nervous breakdown. Remember what you focus on will attract itself to you. Focus on the good, what you are grateful for. Focus on financial freedom and stop thinking about your debt. The stress you feel is because you are trying so hard. Let go, make this fun. Begin your day by visualizing your good. See yourself there now. Feel excited. The important thing is to feel good no matter what! And I'd venture to say that you were pretty unhappy and unable to feel good in your relationship so the Universe gifted you with it's ending. Life is meant to be joyful and abundant in all areas. You are so close, don't give up!
Q: I've always been young for my age and pretty energetic but this year I started menopause and it seems like I'm aging overnight? Why does it have to be this way?
A: It doesn't! The first thing I'd ask you to do is to take a good, long look at your belief system about aging and menopause. What does this powerful time in a woman's life mean to you? Look at the examples in your life of the women you know who have already experienced menopause? Did they have an easy time of it or was it difficult? Did they complain, or keep silent about their 'little secret'? I would ask you to reevaluate and decide for yourself how you will proceed. The focus needs to be on the experience you choose to have and not on the experience of people you've known or society's interpretation. The joy of learning to deliberately create your reality is to be able to customize your life for you! Menopause can be such a powerful transition for a woman. It is a time when her body shifts from physical reproduction to a brand new kind of creation. For most women, many years are spent nurturing others and caring for her family, feathering the nest. Now the focus shifts from caring for others to caring, discovering, and learning new aspects of herself. It is a profound and beautiful time. Bless it, don't resist it. Remember 50 is the new 40!
